Disk Accord History

Disk Accord has it's roots in a DOS program that used PKZIP and diskettes to keep my home and work machine in step. I revived it as a Windows program when I found Microsoft's Briefcase too slow and unwieldy for my requirements.

I released the first shareware version after I had been using it for some time as (I think) version 1.6.

Version 1.16 (4.0) - March 2001

New features:

Configuration dialog has been redesigned as a tabbed dialog as the old one was getting rather cramped.
The ability to resize the display and sort the profiles by the three columns has been added
A new facility to check for high degrees of change has been added. This can act as a safety net to help prevent propogating accidental bulk deletions.
Support for CD-RW drives that can be written to via a drive letter.
Support for Windows Recycle Bin for deleted files provided the file system supports it.This is slower, but may be selected for especially sensitive directories.
Ability to schedule external tasks.

Bug Fixes:

Phantom directory problem solved, where it existed in the history, but was missing form both t=Yin and Yang.

Version 1.15.3 - July 2000

New features:

Username and password can be supplied for network connections on NT/2000 systems.

Version 1.15 - December 1999

New features:

8.3 filename for status and log file possible.
Basic support for automatic error response.
Improved logging.
Added view & clear log file options.
Added debug logging.
Rotating icon when active.
Allow HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE as well as HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
Option to not create/delete first level subdirs.
Added progress bar and details for those really big files and slow RAS connections - one for you Arthur.

Y2K testing and compliance statement

Disk Accord has been developed in full awareness of the time and date issues associated with the year 2000.

The product has been tested for compliance with dates beyond 31 December 1999, and for continued correct functionality over the change between 1999 and 2000.

Bug fixes:

Yin and Yang removed from all messages when Source/Dest preferred.
Save right time not 16 sec adjusted.

Version 1.12 - August 1998

New features:

Allow identity to be taken from computer name.
Control over access to options, e.g. the user may not be able to prevent it running at Windows startup.
Log file location can be to the Accord program folder
The terms Yin and Yang can be replaced with Source and Destination.
Yin and Yang can be browsed - but only for directories on allocated drives.
