ShewSoft can provide several levels of solution to your Web site requirements. Usually, our most suitable option is the "Down to Earth" package which provides the design and hosting leaving you to fill in the content. We can also add more specialised content, or at the other extreme supply simple 'cpanel' hosting where you manage your own content.

Down to Earth

For this we separate out the appearance of the web site from the content of the pages (text and images). The former is our responsibility, guided by you and the latter totally under your control using our online management tool.

We will discuss your requirements and design the appearance of your web site, including layout and graphics, to reflect or create the image of your organisation. This will be constrained by the underlying functionality of our software, but a wide variation of appearance is possible.

Once the bones of the web site are in place, it will be explained to you how to add pages and their content and to arrange them in a logical structure to match your requirements, and to make the site easy to navigate by your visitors.

Subsequent management of the site will be your responsibility and it will only be necessary to engage our services again to make design changes, or to add special pages. We will keep a regular backup of the content of the site, so that should a problem arise, the site can be restored.

Optional features of this package are a web response form to be emailed to you, and multi-language support for some or all of your pages.

Bells and Whistles

This takes the "Down to Earth" package a step further by adding bespoke features. Features we have added in the past include:
  • Membership area accessed by member logon.
  • Membership list management and bulk mail features.
  • Event registration, feature selection and pre-payment functions.
  • Local weather information upload and embedding of weather forecast data.
  • Event database with flyer, details and results.


For the technically minded, we use PHP scripting on the web server, with extensive use of reusable code, and access to MySQL or PhpTxtDb databases if required. The pages sent to the user's web browser are XHTML compatible and use cascading style sheets extensively to provide a consistent look and feel to the pages on the web site. We can incorporate Java scripting at the web browser to make the pages interactive, including the possibility of using Ajax methods to access and update databases without full page refresh.

'Cpanel' hosting

This provides you with full control of your web site. You are responsible for the web site design, and for uploading the web pages and images.

It is suitable for experienced web developers, or with web development and management performed by a third party.
